During a preview for UFC 309, Johnson explained his reasoning, saying, “I would put Andrei Arlovski above Jon Jones because he had way more fights at heavyweight, right? I think he has more title defenses at heavyweight. Even Daniel Cormier, Stipe.” Johnson continued, “Look at this concept right here, Jones is the greatest light heavyweight we’ve ever seen. It’s not a disrespect to Jones, it’s almost crediting the work that Stipe, that Daniel Cormier, that all the other heavyweights, Frank Mir, Brock Lesnar, the list just goes on.”
