In an absolute shocker, Andy Ruiz Jr stopped Anthony Joshua in the sixth round to become the new WBA, IBF and WBO world heavyweight champion at the Madison Square Garden in New York City. He also became the first Mexican-American heavyweight champion of the world.

Joshua was initially supposed to fight Jarrell Miller, but he tested positive for PEDs and Andy Ruiz Jr. was the short replacement for Miller and took the fight on eight weeks notice.

But what was supposed to be Joshua’s big welcome to the United States turned nightmare for him. He got dropped four-times throughout the fight and ultimately the referee Mike Griffin stepped in and stopped the fight.

Both Tyson Fury and WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder reacted to the knockout loss of Joshua and both had separate responses.

We have our back and Forth’s but Anthony Joshua changed his stars through life. heavyweight boxing, these things happen, rest up, recover, regroup and come again.” – Tyson Fury

He wasn’t a true champion. His whole career was consisted of lies, contradictions and gifts. Facts and now we know who was running from who!!!!” – Deontay Wilder said.

Now, Joshua said that will be exercising his rematch clause as soon as possible.
