WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder successfully defended his title as he knocked out Dominic Breazeale in the first round at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
Deontay Wilder started the round like his usual self, throwing the long jabs, he hit Dominic with few clean shots and sends him into the corner, but Dominic comes back with his own hard right hand, which wobbles him a little, but it doesn’t take long as Wilder lands a clean a looping right hand to the jaw that drops Breazeale. He tries to get up, but couldn’t beat the referee’s count.
There were a lot of pre-fight talks about Deontay wanting to kill Breazeale inside the ring, but at the end of the day, Wilder ended the fight quick and both fighters can go home safe to their families.

“Everything came out of me tonight. I know it’s been a big build-up, a lot of animosity, chaos and hatred to one another, a lot of words said. It just came out tonight,” Wilder said in the post-fight interview to Showtime.
“This is what makes boxing great. When you have the stuff to overcome.
“I’ve told him I love him and I want to see him go home to his family. I know we say things we mean sometimes but when you get into a fight and settle your differences if you can then hug him and kiss him, I wish the world was like that, handle things with our hands and then live to see another day.” Wilder said.
Deontay Wilder now improves his record to 41-0-1 with 40 knockouts.
