The much-awaited return of Deontay Wilder went spectacularly, as the former WBC heavyweight champion added another knockout win to his pro record in less than three minutes against Robert Helenius this October 15th night at the Barclays Center in New York City.

And now, ‘The Bronze Bomber’ is ready for anything the division throws at him- be it Andy Ruiz Jr or Oleksandr Usyk.

Wilder, 36, made easy work of his Finnish opponent, landing three punches in the fight, with the third one- a right hand that knocked Helenius out ten seconds from the end of the first round.

“It’s so good to be back. I just had great energy, I felt love and support. I felt it in the arena and I knew it was going to be a great night, and that was it for me,” Wilder said after the win, “It’s been a good camp, we wanted to make it fun again. It became a job, just something I did, we had to make it fun again. It paid off tonight, and I just appreciate that everyone came out with the love and support.”

“I was making it reach, trying to keep my distance, because Robert has the heart of a champion,” he continued, “I didn’t take it lightly at all, or take it for granted. He really wanted this. He wanted to be his country’s first world heavyweight champion. I trapped him.”

When enquired by reporters if Wilder has anyone in mind as his next opponent, he stated, “I’ve heard rumors about Oleksandr Usyk, I see he’s not here in the building. I’m down for anyone, whether it’s Andy Ruiz or Usyk, or whoever. Deontay Wilder is back, and the excitement in the heavyweight division is back! There’s no excitement in the heavyweight division without Deontay Wilder!”
