Former UFC light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz caused some stir when he said in a recent interview that he can beat current UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones inside the Octagon.

It has almost been 10 years ever since Jon Jones lost inside the Octagon which he suffered against Matt Hamil at The Ultimate Fighter Finale Season 10 which took place on 5th December 2009.

It was a DQ loss and there hasn’t been another fighter to hand down a defeat to Jones ever since he made his MMA debut back in 2008. Although few fighters like Alexander Gustafsson and Thiago Santos have come close to beating the UFC light heavyweight champion, none of them have been successful.

However, 44-year old Tito Ortiz really believes that he can a good chance beating Jones. Here’s what he said in an interview with TMZ.

I think I could beat Jon Jones. I think I got a good chance. I really do think I got a good chance. And people say ‘Oh Tito, bullshit, you’re over the hill, whatever. Come to my camp. Come train with me. Come wrestle with me. Come do jiujitsu with me. Watch my weight training, watch my biking and my stairs that I do. I push myself harder than I’ve pushed myself my entire career. I’m doing amazing. My mind is just in the right place and my body is in the right place.” Tito Ortiz said. (H/T – MMA Mania)

He then went ahead to say that the gameplan to beating Jones was applying more pressure on him inside the cage.

Pressure,” Ortiz declared. “Pressure pressure pressure pressure.”

Top middleweight Derek Bruson took to twitter and trolled Tito Ortiz for claiming he can beat Jones.

Tito Ortiz is all set to fight former WWE superstar Alberto Del Rio at Combate Americas event on December 7 at the Payne Arena in Hidalgo, Texas.
