Derrick Lewis Reveals His Big Plan To Buy The UFC In Future

UFC Heavyweight stalwart and former title challenger Derrick Lewis will retire from the promotion one day, but doesn’t plan on venturing away. In fact, the knockout win record holder plans to own the promotion one day.

Winning a UFC championship one hell of a feat that many fighters cherish and work towards. But to own the mixed martial arts’ top dog company is a different magnitude and that’s what “The Black Beast” has planned to do.

Before he steps in the Octagon to take on Sergei Pavlovich at UFC 277 this wweekend at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas, Lewis was asked about what keeps him going. The 37-year-old, as usual, had a witty reply.

“It’s still the money,” Lewis responded the reporters at the UFC 277 media day, “You know, shit, inflation. You seen the gas prices? Shit, what is it, $7, $6, something like that in Vegas?”

Another question followed up, asking Lewis what would he do if he won the Mega Millions jackpot, to which the 5th ranked UFC heavyweight revealed his plans of owning the company in the future.

“Mega Millions, I’m gonna buy the UFC. Then I’m gonna talk so much shit to the reporters. I’m gonna dog your ass all the way you do us fighters,” he added.

The record holder for most knockouts in UFC history (13), Lewis was once again asked why he held a grudge towards reporters, and the Texas native once again gave a humorous answer.

“Fuck y’all. Y’all talk so much shit about me, for no reason. And I’m sitting here telling your ass the truth. I don’t give a fuck about this fighting shit you know, sitting up here telling me, ‘I don’t think Derrick got it’. Motherfucker, I’ve been telling y’all, fuck y’all. Shit, it is what it is.
