UFC heavyweight Black Beast’ Derrick Lewis is going to fight Curtis Blaydes in a headliner at UFC Fight Night later this Saturday but said in an interview that he wants Conor Mcgregor next.
Despite fighting a dangerous heavyweight, Lewis was focused on who he would like to fight next. On a virtual media day ahead of his November 28 fight, Derrick Lewis astonished UFC fans by calling out the Notorious Conor McGregor.

“There’s one guy that has been talking trash for years that I want to fight,” Lewis said. “So, Conor McGregor, he’s been calling me out so I believe I need to fight him next.”
The priority for Lewis needs to be his fight against Curtis Blaydes this weekend, but the top contender Blades doesn’t seem to think Lewis will be able to get the better of him.
“He likes to come with everything, he likes to play with heavy hands. He has nothing but his right hand and a flying knee,” Blaydes said to Combate. “I have footwork, I have wrestling, I have striking, I have several paths to victory, he only has one specific. I know he is predictable. He only has one punch, almost like Ngannou, but without his wingspan.”
“If you do that, you go after the finish, you open yourself up to making mistakes, and that’s how you lose. I prefer to win,” he explained. “Even if it is a very boring fight, as long as I win, I don’t lose my position.”
Blaydes has marked Lewis as “predictable” heading into their fight. ‘The Black Beast’ admits his opponent may be right but that won’t stop him from performing his game this Saturday night.
“Yeah, I am predictable,” Lewis said. “It’s fine if he thinks I’m predictable. I don’t care. They all know what I’m going to do, most of them. … This will be my 21st fight in the UFC. My game plan and my game, the way I fight, my style hasn’t changed. Guys said the same thing before. And you see that I’m the knockout king, so we’ll just see. I’m predictable, OK. He’s predictable, as well.”
Lewis believes that a win will help him earn a title shot. Though Francis Ngannou is next in line as the number one contender, ‘The Black Beast’ feels that his dream of capturing the gold is not far-fetched. Lewis has a ferocious knockout power and has cemented himself as the heavyweight division’s knockout king. He currently has a 24-7 record in his MMA career. Apart from this, he also holds the most knockouts in the Heavyweight division of the UFC.
