The feud between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor has escalated to being bigger than a bad blood rivalry between individuals. It has always involved the respective camps as well. Lately, McGregor’s training partner Dillon Danis had attempted to lure in Islam Makhachev on Twitter for a fight.
“One day this fight needs to happen,” Danis wrote in a Tweet that included a photo of himself and Makhachev.

It didn’t take long before Makhachev gave a reply to Dillon. The Dagestani fighter called the Brazilian jiu jitsu ace a bum and asked him to learn how to fight first.

Both Danis and Makhachev were involved in the post UFC 229 brawl that ensued right after Khabib had just submitted McGregor. Nurmagomedov had jumped out of the cage to attack Danis. On the other hand, Makhachev was involved in a tussle with McGregor inside the Octagon. Both the parties had received fines and suspensions for their role in the melee.
A fight between the two is hard to imagine right now as both of them are under contract with separate organisations. Danis fights under the Bellator banner while Makhachev is signed with the UFC. The latter also has his next fined line up at UFC 242 in Abu Dhabi next month. He will be facing Davi Ramos in a card that will be headlined by Khabib himself.
Danis meanwhile is 2-0 in his fights in Bellator. He has also submitted both his opponents. Dillon currently doesn’t have a fight scheduled.
