Dillon Danis can finally look forward to a fight inside the Octagon for himself. A fight has been set up to take place between him and Max Humphrey on the 11th of May, for Bellator 221. The fight was good news for Danis after his career came to a stop last October.
The fighter was involved in the UFC 229 brawl, where he taunted Khabib from Conor Mcgregor’s corner. Khabib Nurmagomedov, after having made McGregor tap out, attacked Danis after jumping out of the Octagon. While Khabib and McGregor were both punished for their part of the brawl and the fallout, Danis was not excluded from the sanctions which were handed out by the Nevada State Athletic Commission.
He was given a retroactive suspension of 7 months and was fined an amount 0f $7,500. Danis has not fought inside the Octagon since he made his debut in Bellator in April of 2018. On that occasion, he was able to come away with the win after making Kyle Walker tap out with the help of a toe-hold.
Now, he will enter the Octagon again at 175 against Max Humphreys. Humphreys is 3-1 inside the Octagon. The two will square off against each other at Bellator 221. The card will also feature Michael Chandler and Patricio Freire.
