Former UFC interim welterweight champion Colby Covington will make his much-anticipated return as he takes on former champion Tyron Woodley at UFC Vegas 11 card this weekend.
Covington hasn’t fought since his title loss against champion Kamaru Usman. He wants his second title run to begin with some ‘chaos’ as President Donald Trump will be tuning in his weekend to watch him fight.
Covington has always been known for his close and friendly association with Donald Trump and his family. The former interim champ took to social media to reveal the news. (via Twitter):

“The #POTUS @realDonaldTrump will be tuned in to @ESPN to watch me at #UFCVegas11 this Saturday night how about you snowflakes?”
The timeline of Trump and Covington’s friendship!
Covington has always been outspoken about his strong belief in Donald Trump’s political ideologies. It all started after he defeated Rafael Dos Anjos to become the interim champ at UFC 225 back in June 2018. Speaking in his post-fight Octagon interview, he expressed his wish to take the belt and place it on Donald Trump’s desk. Surprisingly, his wish came true when he was invited to the White House to meet Trump. (via MMAjunkie):
“When they walked me in to go see Trump, I’d seen him and was like, ‘Whoa, man. Is this really happening?’ I got the butterflies like I’ve never had before a fight”, he said. “He didn’t have to spend as much time as he did with us, and he legitimately gave us 30 minutes – just (expletive), told us some funny stories, he likes chicks, he likes wrestling, he likes MMA. And he was just telling us stories and just being a regular guy. He’s down to earth. He’s just a regular guy.”
Last year when Covington fought former champ, Robbie Lawler, Trump’s sons Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump were in attendance. They cheered for Covington as he defeated Lawler via a lopsided unanimous decision.
