One rising welterweight contender bashed Leon Edwards’ team for their corner advice during the UFC London main event.
After losing to Belal Muhammad for the UFC Welterweight Championship, Edwards was aiming to recover. He had anticipated facing Jack Della Maddalena in the Octagon, but when Maddalena was rescheduled for a title bout versus Muhammad at UFC 315, Sean Brady took his place. Brady entered enemy territory with ease and defeated Edwards by a lopsided submission.
A charging 170-pound fighter during the bout made it apparent that “Rocky’s” corner did not impress him.
Joaquin Buckley Attacks the Corner of Leon Edwards
During this past Saturday’s UFC London show, Joaquin Buckley shared his thoughts on X. He was closely watching the main event, which was between Sean Brady and Leon Edwards. When Buckley expressed his opinions about Edwards’ team’s corner work, he didn’t hold back.
“Leon corner is trash to many people talking and not saying sh*t important,” Buckley wrote.
After Brady secured the fourth-round guillotine choke submission, Buckley issued a challenge.
“Congrats Sean. If Usman don’t want no smoke what ya think bout Brady Bunch Vs Buck #UFCLondon.”
Buckley defeated Colby Covington via TKO via doctor’s stoppage to close out 2024. On the official UFC welterweight rankings, Buckley is currently ranked sixth. After losing to the No. 5-ranked Brady, Edwards is predicted to drop a lot from the top slot.
Regarding the picture of the UFC welterweight belt, the fight between Belal Muhammad and Jack Della Maddalena is scheduled for May 10. It is anticipated that the victor would face Shavkat Rakhmonov to defend the gold. It will be interesting to see what happens after UFC 315, which is scheduled to take place in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, because things may and frequently do change in the UFC.
