The former UFC interim lightweight champion Tony Ferguson has been wanting to fight the current UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov for a while now. The fight has already been scheduled and booke four times before but all four times either Nurmagomedov or Ferguson have had to pull out due to injuries, with the most recent time being at UFC 226 last April. Ferguson recently posted a picture on Twitter and again called out Nurmagomedov for a fight. However, in another call out the former UFC interim lightweight champion Dustin Poirier who was defeated by the Russian in his last outing at UFC 242 called Ferguson out.
It should be noted that both Ferguson and Nurmagomedov have almost cleared off the entire UFC lightweight division and already defeated most fighters. Both of them are unbeaten in over 11 fights, thus making a potential fight between them a super-fight.
Poirier replied to Ferguson’s tweet and told him that if the Dagestani can’t make it to the fight, then he will.
Below is the tweet by Poirier:
If he can't make it. I can 🙋♂️
