Eddie Alvarez close to signing a multi-fight deal with ONE Championship

Eddie Alvarez, regarded as one of the best 155-pounders in the world is about to make his return in MMA.

The underground king is close to making a multi-fight deal with ONE Championship.

Recognized as Asia’s largest sports media property, ONE championship is dominating the Asian market since its beginning seven years ago.

This is the biggest signing the promotion has garnered till date, as Eddie Alvarez is the Former Bellator and UFC lightweight champion.

ESPN’s Ariel Helwani reported this by tweeting,

“Free agent Eddie Alvarez is very close to agreeing to a new multi-fight contract with ONE Championship, multiple sources told ESPN. This would be the biggest FA signing in ONE history.”

UFC president Dana White while Speaking on the UFC Unfiltered podcast a few months ago, made it clear that he is okay with whatever Eddie chooses with his future.

Dana White said, “I’m in a place if Eddie wants to go somewhere else and try it, I’m cool with that. If Eddie wants to stay, I’d keep him here too.”

Eddie Alvarez has had a distinguished career. With 15 years in MMA,36 fights, 29 wins, Eddie Alvarez will leave the UFC with a record of (4-3, 1 NC).
