The former UFC and Bellator MMA lightweight champion Eddie “The Underground King” Alvarez is one of the best lightweights in the world of MMA. Hence, when the UFC let him go to One FC so easily many eyebrows were raised. However, “The Underground King” is now all set and ready to make his official One FC debut in a lightweight World Grand Prix tournament for their official 155 pounds title.
The World Grand Prix will feature eight world class fighters and the former UFC champion Alvarez, who is certainly the favourite to win the tournament, is currently matched up against Timofey Nastyukhin in the very first round. The winner of their fight will then face off against the winner of Honorio Banario vs. Lowen Tynanes in the semi finals of the tournament.
Alvarez, who currently has a professional MMA record of 29-6, is certainly a favourite not only in his fight against Timofey but also to win the tournament itself.
