Retired professional strongman and former World’s Strongest Man Eddie Hall is gearing up to fight his fellow ex-strongman Hafthor Björnsson in a boxing match billed as the “Heaviest Boxing Match in History” which is set to take place on a yet to be decided date next year. The preparations for the fight has brought about drastic changes in Hall’s physique, as he has cut over 40 kgs for the fight and has opened up on the secret behind his amazing body transformation.

Eddie Hall plans to “combine power, speed, agility, and endurance” against Hafthor

Eddie Hall and Hafthor Björnsson were originally slated to square off in September. Unfortunately, on 25th July, it was revealed that Hall had pulled out from the fight after suffering a bicep tear, pushing the fight into uncertain territories, as there were no immediate replacements available for Hall. Björnsson would later go on to face Arm Wrestling icon Devon Larratt on 18th September and won the fight via TKO in the first round.

Along with his recovery, Hall has cut his weight from the bulky 200kg ‘Beast’, the professional strongman image that all his fans knew him as, all the down to a more chiselled 158 kg with more definition in the abs. The 33-year-old has also slashed his daily intake of 12,000 calories to just 6,000 calories.

“I’m happy to fight 158kg, to be honest. I’ll probably go in at this weight,” Hall spoke to Muscle and Health, “My game plan is to combine power, speed, agility, and endurance and I’ve got all four attributes nailed down.”

“I can do ten three-minute rounds quite comfortably. I think the third round will be the end for him. That’s what I’m aiming for. Now, I have four square meals a day and five protein shakes in-between to make sure I don’t dig too big a hole,” he added. [H/T The Daily Star]
