A middleweight fight between top-10 fighter Jack Hermansson and up and comer Edmen Shahbazyan is the latest addition to May’s UFC 262 lineup.
Many Major fights were announced yesterday including Michael Chandler vs. Charles Oliveira as the main event in a Lightweight title bout. There’s been another major addition to the pay-per-view (PPV) event, as LA Times’ Manouk Akopyan has announced that No. 6-ranked Middleweight Jack Hermansson will return to action opposite No. 12-ranked Edmen Shahbazyan on the main card.
One of the co-featured bouts for #UFC262 will be a middleweight match between No. 6 Jack Hermansson (21-6) vs. No. 12 Edmen Shahbazyan (11-1), I'm told by a source with direct knowledge of the deal.
Shahbazyan will have a second chance to prove his ceiling in the step-up fight. https://t.co/HIpK0i6kX6

UFC 262 takes place May 15 at Toyota Center in Houston. The main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on ESPN and ESPN+/UFC Fight Pass.
Edmen Shahbazyan is currently 11-1 as a pro and coming off his first career loss last August. The 23-year-old headlined the show against Derek Brunson and suffered a third-round TKO loss. Before the setback, he beat Brad Tavares by first-round KO, Jack Marshman by first-round submission, Charles Byrd by first-round TKO, and Darren Stewart by decision. He earned his way into the UFC with a first-round TKO win over Antonio Jones on the Contender Series.
Jack Hermansson, meanwhile, is coming off a decision to Marvin Vettori last August. In the fight before, he submitted Kelvin Gastelum in 78 seconds to return to the win column after being knocked out by Jared Cannonier.
UFC 263 will be headlined by Former Bellator lightweight champion and UFC newcomer Michael Chandler who will be fighting Brazilian contender Charles Oliveira for the UFC lightweight title at UFC 262. Since the announcement by Dana White regarding the retirement of UFC lightweight champion and pound-for-pound no.1 fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov there have been many fights speculated among the lightweight division. Another rumored fight is the trilogy between Conor Mcgregor and Dustin Poirier which be taking place in the summer.
