UFC 257 is knocking at the door. The press conference is done and dusted, and the ceremonial weigh-in is just hours away. Meanwhile, its Eminem, the famous rapper who has become the center of attention, for the choicest of words he spoke to UFC president Dana White.

One of the pioneers in the American hip hop industry, Marshall Mathers aka Eminem made headlines back in late December after his music was used for the UFC 257: Conor McGregor vs Dustin Poirier 2 promo. The song ‘Higher‘, From Em’s new album ‘Music To Be Murdered By: Side B (Deluxe)’, has been used in the promo clip as the theme music.

“Survivor Mode!” the artist himself had shared the clip on Twitter.

Eminem takes a shot at Dana White during ESPN SportsCenter podcast

With only days left before UFC 257 commences at the Etihad Arena on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, Eminem had joined for a conversation with ESPN SportsCenter, with the presence of Dana White.

However, things turned sour when the rapper took a shot at the UFC chief and it has become the talking point out of the entire podcast.

A short clip of Em’s words towards Dana was shared on Twitter by former UFC heavyweight fighter Brendan Schaub.

“The best part about your opinion is that it doesn’t matter. And if every fighter that you had listened to your opinion when you doubted them, you wouldn’t have a f*****g league,” Eminem was heard saying in the clip.

Although the full podcast has not been made public yet, the 9-second clip shared by Schaub has become viral in social media and netizens have come up with their own theories on why Eminem said so.

For some, Em has spoken in favor of the fighters who have laid the foundation for UFC’s massive success, while taking a jab at the company and the president

On the other hand, some others indicate it to be politics, as Dana White is affiliated with the United States President Donald Trump, while Eminem is vocally anti-Trump. However, the UFC has used Eminem’s music for promos in the past as well and Dana has been associated with Trump for many years.

For the rest, the reason lies elsewhere and will only be known when the full SportsCenter podcast goes live.
