UFC 229 is still a hot topic in the MMA circles. The pay-per-view saw Khabib Nurmagomedov get the better of Conor McGregor. However, it will be remembered for the shenanigans that followed the fight.

The teams of Khabib and McGregor were involved in an all-out brawl and it raised a lot of headache for the UFC.

The exact reason for Khabib’s outrage was one of the major discussion points after the pay-per-view. And now, Enson Inoue has given his take on the whole matter. While talking to MMA Junkie, he noted that Khabib is not someone who is fighting for the sport which could be the reason for him losing control.

“Someone like Khabib is not fighting for sport. He’s more of a martial artist, so I think he takes a lot of the emotions a little deeper. Already, just without any controversy, any rivalry in the ring, when you’re fighting and you live through it and you defeat your opponent – hand-to-hand combat, man-to-man against another man – it already creates a lot of emotions,” he said.

Inoue also went on to talk about how the rivalry impacted Khabib.

“Some people are super quiet, and then will scream out because the emotions are hard to control at that moment. But with the rivalry and him insulting his religion and his father, I think it probably got the best of him.”
