Indian MMA fighter Srikant Sekhar was violently attacked by the Afghan MMA fighter Abdul Azim Badakshi at the Matrix Fight Night 9 event which took place at the Siri Fort Stadium in New Delhi last Friday.
Since that incident, MFN owner Ayesha Shroff said that the Afghan fighters will be banned from Matrix Fight Night events going forward.
The MMA India Show reached out to Abdul Azim Badakshi’s manager Aleksandar Vasic who said that he is really shocked by the whole incident and that the management agency has released Badakshi.
“Abdul has been released on 20th May and he is not a part of the agency anymore. Also I have been out of the agency for a few months because of personal reasons, so I didn’t have the contact with Abdul for a long time and today I recieved the news about what happened and Matrix Fight Night And also what happened with his passport. All I can say is that I am really surprised and I didn’t really except anything like this is even possible to happen,” Aleksandar Vasic said.
“It’s really sad to hear such an incident happen in such a beautiful sport and it is the most dangerous sport in the world. We have no words to say but shocked and We hope that the whole incidents is gonna be solved soon and everyone is gonna be okay,” Vasic concluded.
