Francis Ngannou knocked out Cain Velasquez via knockout in just twenty six seconds of the first round of their fight at UFC on ESPN 1, a.k.a. UFC Phoenix. While Velasquez was actually knocked-out by Francis’ uppercut or by injuring his knee is still up for debate, Velasquez has surely handled his loss in an extremely classy way. He apparently also told Ngannou back stage after the fight that he would be willing to help out with Ngannou’s foundation back in his home country of Cameroon.
Ngannou started the ‘Francis Ngannou Foundation’ to help provide the children of Cameroon with the skills to expand their horizons and realize their dreams.
The news was broken by noted MMA and combat sports journalist Marc Raimondi of SB Nation and MMA Fighting that Velasquez told Ngannou that he’ll be willing to help with his foundation in Africa. Here’s what Raimondi wrote on his Twitter account regarding the incident:
Velasquez is so classy that he told Ngannou backstage at the press conference to let him know if he could help with his foundation in Africa.
