Fabricio Andrey is ready to showcase an evolved version of his explosive grappling style when he welcomes fellow Brazilian Eduardo Granzotto to ONE Championship at ONE Fight Night 36 on 4 October in Bangkok, Thailand.
The 23-year-old Checkmat representative faces a brutal introduction to ONE’s submission grappling division, stepping into a 10-minute featherweight contest against one of the sport’s most dynamic finishers.
Andrey enters this all-Brazilian encounter carrying 99 career victories and the confidence that comes with being a 2021 IBJJF World Champion.
The 25-year-old Manaus native has built his reputation on spectacular techniques including his trademark flying armbar and solid takedowns.
His promotional debut against Ashley Williams at ONE Fight Night 30 showcased his technical abilities in a unanimous decision victory, but Andrey promises a more aggressive approach against his compatriot.
“Expect an even more aggressive ‘Hokage’ this time around. And when I’m done with Eduardo, you’ll be thrilled with who I want next!” Andrey declared.
The Brazilian’s confidence stems from his detailed analysis of how he expects the match to unfold from the opening moments.
“It’s gonna be nonstop action on my end. I’ll be ready to capitalize on any opportunities I see. I expect to get to his back mid-match and choke him out. But I’ll be paying close attention to where he puts his arms when defending, as flying attacks are also part of my game,” he explained.
Despite preparing for the full 10-minute duration, Andrey believes his finishing instincts will produce a quicker result.
“I’m prepared to go ten minutes of straight action, but I don’t think it will take that long to find what I’m looking for. And when I find it, it’s game over,” he said.
