Former UFC fighter and current PFL heavyweight prospect Fabricio Werdum has stated that he would love to rematch Fedor Emelianenko as Fedor is about to come back from a long layoff and is search for an opponent for his return at Bellator event in Russia. Fedor Emelianenko ‘The Last Emperor’ will be fighting for the Bellator event in October. Bellator MMA will be hosting an event in Fedor’s hometown in Moscow Russia. The event will take place on October 23 at VTB Arena in Moscow. Bellator hasn’t figured out yet that who they want Fedor to fight.

Taking to his social media, Fabricio Werdum has challenged Fedor Emelianenko to a rematch and wants to show the world that Fedor is not the heavyweight GOAT.

“IF fedor The GOAT do you need revenge from me HEY I’m ready to go to Russia”

“Fedor was never the goat because I killed the Goat @ScottCoker let’s go”

Fedor and Bellator President are yet to react to this call out by Werdum.

Fabricio Werdum faced former Pride Heavyweight Champion Fedor Emelianenko in June 2010, at Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Werdum. In an enormous upset victory, Werdum forced Fedor to tap via triangle/armbar 1:09 into the first round. The victory ended Emelianenko’s 28-fight unbeaten streak. The victory over Fedor also gave him the distinction of being the only man to hold victories over both of the Emelianenko brothers. The win over Fedor was Werdum’s biggest flex as he is considered to be the only fighter who defeated Fedor when he was in his prime and in a dominant way.

In his last fight in the UFC Werdum faced Alexander Gustafsson at UFC on ESPN 14, Alex was making his debut at heavyweight. Werdum won the fight via an armbar submission in round one and spoiled the debut of his opponent. At the end of 2020, he announced that he had signed a multi-fight deal with the Professional Fighters League promotion and will compete in the 2021 PFL heavyweight tournament.

His callout of Fedor seems to be irrelevant at the moment as they both are fighting for two different promotions but in the current world of MMA, you never know what transpires.
