Kayla Harrison was once PFL’s biggest star, a former Olympics medalist was the crown jewel for the PFL. But when she decided to move to the UFC, Donn Davis (PFL Boss) was not happy.

In a recent podcast appearance, Donn Davis went ahead to use a ‘Lebron James-Kevin Durant’ comparison to undermine Kayla’s decision to jump ships to the UFC.

He said, “Some people at the very top of their career are LeBron James and some at the very top are Kevin Durant…

One wants to lead and change their sport… the other is a follower who needs validation and we couldn’t do anything about that”

After the clip from the show went viral, many fans found it unnecessary and called out the PFL for the ‘cheap’ comments on Kayla.

Harrison’s UFC debut was nothing short of spectacular. On April 13, 2024, at UFC 300, she faced off against former champion Holly Holm. The matchup was highly anticipated, and Harrison delivered. In the second round, she secured a submission victory, showcasing her ground game and resilience. This win catapulted her into the spotlight and solidified her position in the division.

Kayla Harrison made her MMA debut in the PFL on June 21, 2018, at PFL 2. Facing Brittney Elkin in the Women’s Lightweight division, Harrison showcased her judo background by securing a first-round submission victory via armbar. Her transition from Olympic judo gold medalist to MMA fighter was off to an impressive start.

In her second professional fight, Harrison took on Jozette Cotton at PFL 6 on August 16, 2018. Once again, she demonstrated her dominance, winning the fight via TKO in the third round. These early victories set the stage for her remarkable PFL career.
