Bellator President Scott Coker has listed few opponents for the return of Fedor Emelianenko which takes place at the first-ever Bellator’s event in Moscow, Russia on October 23.

Fedor is undoubtedly one of the first superstars in MMA. He is one of the best heavyweights to have ever fought in the sport of MMA. With a spectacular record of 39-6 at the age of 44, he is still fighting at the top of the sport. Bellator MMA has made a huge announcement recently regarding the comeback of Fedor. Fedor Emelianenko ‘The Last Emperor’ will be fighting for the Bellator event in October. Bellator MMA will be hosting an event in Fedor’s hometown in Moscow Russia. The event will take place on October 23 at VTB Arena in Moscow.

Following Bellator 261, Coker was pressed on potential matchmaking options and revealed a few of the names he’s been talking to in recent days.

“Believe me, there is no shortage of opponents (for) Russia right now,” Coker said at a post-fight news conference. “Listen, the managers of all the free agents are calling. Josh Barnett was texting me today. I talked to (Junior Dos Santos’) manager a couple days ago. Alistair Overeem. The list goes on and on and on.”

“They’ve done everything. They’ve already proved themselves. They are legends of the sport already. But what I will say is we do have legends of the sport here. If we go down the road, and we think a Fedor opponent will work, Alistair and Fedor will be very interesting to me. Junior Dos Santos and Fedor will be very interesting to me.”

Emelianenko competed in the finals and faced Ryan Bader for the vacant Bellator Heavyweight World Championship in the main event at Bellator 214. Emelianenko lost the fight via knockout just 35 seconds into the first round. In his last fight for the Bellator promotion, Emelianenko fought Quinton Jackson on 29 December 2019 at a Bellator and Rizin co-produced event in Japan. Emelianenko won the fight via first-round knockout.

Josh Barnett who competes in Bellator hasn’t fought in the company in years. He is a very famous fighter and his return fight could easily be scheduled against Fedor. Two other names in the list are Junior Dos Anjos and Alistair Overeem who were realized by the UFC a few months back and are testing free agency. Bellator could easily sign those guys and put them against someone like Fedor as those guys themselves are proven fighters and have fought in the UFC at the very top.
