Brazilian striker Felipe Lobo will put his third-placed ranking on the line when he faces Thai veteran Kulabdam Sor Jor Piek Uthai in the main event of ONE Friday Fights 114 on 27 June.
This high-stakes bantamweight Muay Thai contest promises fireworks as two of the division’s most dangerous finishers collide at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
Lobo enters this pivotal matchup riding high on momentum after his stunning third-round TKO victory over Saemapetch Fairtex in February.
The 32-year-old has his sights set firmly on another spectacular finish against another Thai veteran.
“I believe this fight will start strong and very intense, especially because Kulabdam likes to start strong and put pressure on. But I really believe I will knock out Kulabdam. That’s my prediction,” Lobo said.
The Brazilian’s bold prediction isn’t without merit. Both fighters possess the kind of devastating power that has made them fan favourites throughout their careers.
Kulabdam is nicknamed “Left Meteorite” for his crushing left straight punch. Meanwhile, Lobo has proven his own finishing ability with spectacular knockouts of top stars.
“He really likes trading strikes, and so do I, so I believe this will be a fight that will end in a knockout. It will be a very intense and aggressive fight,” Lobo explained, clearly relishing the prospect of an all-out war.
The stakes couldn’t be higher for both men.
Kulabdam comes into the fight with three consecutive victories, including impressive wins over John Lineker and Suablack Tor Pran49.
For Lobo, this represents a golden opportunity to establish himself as the top contender in the bantamweight division.
“I think a victory over him could put me in a prominent position in the division, especially because Kulabdam has fought against the best in the division, including Nabil Anane,” Lobo said.
