Fighter of the Week: Dhruv Chaudhary

Our Friday Fighter this week is Dhruv Chaudhary from Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. He currently holds a professional record of 15-7-0 with most of his wins ending in a finish. The journey of Dhruv, like most of the MMA fighters out there, has been a memorable one. From an early age, Dhruv had decided to join get into combat sports. He started out with kickboxing and Wushu and then eventually transitioned into Mixed Martial Arts.

In 2013, the Super Fight League held trials in Nashik to give chance for young and upcoming fighters from different parts of the country to get into SFL. A friend of Dhruv Chaudhary informed him about the upcoming trials  and after some tries he finally managed to get entry into the trials. His first fight came against Khwaja Mohibsa where he lost and in the second fight of the trial he managed to get a win against Sudhir Shetty. He experienced his first win and loss in the trials. Despite losing in his first trial fight Dhruv Chaudhary managed to get the attention of Alan Fernandes & Daniel Isaac who were  in charge of trails and got selected to fight in SFL.

He first professional fight came against another well known Indian MMA fighter Sumeet Khade where he lost by unanimous decision. His first fight taught him a lot as after that fight he went on a 4 fight win streak in SFL and emerged as one of the biggest star of the promotion.

A fan favourite fighter Dhruv is known to put up exciting fights with most of his wins coming via finishes. His last fight came against Sumeet Khade in a trilogy at Matrix Fight Night 7 which took place in Hyderabad. It was a much anticipated fight as this trilogy generated a lot of interest among people. Dhruv Chaudhary picked up a dominant winending the fight via TKO Round 1

Besides being a professional MMA fighter, Dhruv also works as a celebrity trainer and teaches Kickboxing and MMA at MMA Matrix Gym. At just 27 years of age , he has a total of 21 professional fights which speaks volumes about his experience in the fight game.
