It has been well documented that Francis Ngannou is not pleased with his current UFC contract. The reigning heavyweight champion, who has only one fight remaining on his deal, has been unhappy with the pay, as well as the denial from the promotion to take boxing fights and in the meantime, Ngannou has upheld Luke Rockhold criticising the UFC bonuses.

Luke’s interview was very pertinent: Francis Ngannou

Rockhold, the Light Heavyweight contender and former UFC Middleweight champ, recently slammed the promotion for not increasing the “Fight of the Night” and “Performance of the Night” bonuses, which have been stuck at $50K, despite the promotion itself having massive increment in its net worth.

“F****** $50,000 bonuses going on for two decades. Like, what the f***?The valuation of the company’s going up f****** billions of dollars and we’re still stuck on $50,000 bonus checks? What the f*** is this? People need to wake up,” Rockhold told MMA Fighting, “Remember when they were doing $100,000 bonuses when Jake Shields fought Georges St-Pierre? Now we’re still stuck on $50,000 bonuses. I mean how many billions have we gone up in valuation since that fight — and we’re still tracking backwards and they’re still f****** us on pay.”

In a series of tweets, Ngannou nodded to Rockhold’s statement.

“Listening to Luke’s interview was very pertinent. A lot of things that nobody is talking about it and the company just rolls with it. Fighters are ripped off with Sponsorship. It’s a huge source of revenue for us but the company keeps exploiting that for their own benefit. I understand that the sport needs to look good with uniforms but we should at least have a right for a minimum of 2 approved sponsors for in the octagon. Last year I lost a deal of over a million dollars from a crypto exchange because the partnership with CRYPTO .COM What do I got from it ? Inflation is up,” wrote Ngannou.
