UFC Heavyweight champion Francis Ngannnou who is at the end of his UFC contract has opened up about his situation with the UFC. At UFC 270 Francis Ngannou defended his heavyweight title against the interim UFC heavyweight champion Ciryl Gane. The fight wasn’t one of the exciting battles in the UFC but it was a well-fought technical battle where both the fighters had to overcome adversity and implement each other’s game plan. It was Francis who showed his MMA experience and changed the course of the fight in his favor. Francis Ngannou won the fight via unanimous decision and this was the first decision win of his career.

After the fight, Francis was asked questions about his relationship with the UFC. For the past couple of months, Ngannou and UFC are trying very hard to stay on the same page and get a good contract for him. But for some of the other reasons, that thing is not getting finalized and now it seems like we might get to see Francis as a free agent.

“It’s not simply money,” Ngannou told reporters at the UFC 270 post-fight press conference regarding his contract issues with the UFC. “Obviously, money is a part of it, but it’s also the terms of the contract that I don’t agree with,” Francis Ngannou said.

Francis has revealed that the UFC is not treating him well and he does not feel like a free man working for the UFC.

“I don’t feel like it’s fair. I don’t feel like I’m a free man. I don’t feel like I’ve been treated good. It’s unfortunate that I have to be in this position, that I have to say that. I feel like everyone should have the right to claim for what’s best for them. At the end of the day, we put a lot of work for this job and we take a lot on our body to make it happen, so we can have a fair and square deal” Francis Ngannou said.

According to Francis Ngannou and his team, the contract is three fights or one year. Ngannou is very firm on his statements and says that he will like to stay on his demands.

“In the past three years I have fought three times, so what does that mean? Once a year,” Ngannou said. “It wouldn’t be something strange. I’m not frustrated about anything, I’m at peace with my decision.”
