WBC heavyweight boxing champion Tyson Fury has vowed to ‘roast’ Francis Ngannou after he takes care of business against Anthony Joshua. Fury called out Ngannou following the latter’s recent appearance on the Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson podcast, although he didn’t clarify whether he would fight ‘The Predator’ in boxing or MMA.

“@MikeTysonafter I smash @anthonyjoshua I’ll roast that guy also. @francis_ngannou easy work,” Fury posted on Twitter.

‘The Gypsy King’ has trained MMA with UFC middleweight Darren Till, hinting of a move to mixed martial arts after he completes his boxing career. Fury hasn’t fought since his TKO win against Deontay Wilder last year, which saw the 32-year-old capture the WBC and The Ring heavyweight titles. He has reportedly signed a two-fight deal with Joshua, although no dates or venue have been announced.

It’s no secret that the UFC heavyweight champion’s first dream was to become a pro boxer, but Ngannou has since established himself as the baddest man in all of MMA with a stunning eight-year run capped off by his knockout of Stipe Miocic at UFC 260 this past March.

Ngannou is a marked man now, with Jones targeting him for his first fight at heavyweight and No. 1 contender Derrick Lewis waiting for his chance to dethrone the man he beat at UFC 226. With his star power on the rise, Ngannou has continued to make the media rounds, including an appearance on boxing legend Mike Tyson’s Hotboxin’ podcast. Ngannou took a picture with Tyson afterwards and that drew the ire of one of today’s most popular boxers.

Tyson Fury tweeted out an image of Ngannou and Tyson, writing that after he fights Anthony Joshua (a heavyweight championship bout that is still to be made official), he’ll “roast” Ngannou also.

This caught Ngannou’s attention and he responded with an image of Fury’s face bloodied from a September 2019 bout with Otto Wallin, asking “If this guy did this to you, what do you think I would do?”

Ngannou has won five straight fights since suffering the lone losses of his career to Miocic and Lewis. All of his wins have come by finishes with 12 knockouts and 4 submissions. Fury is unbeaten in his pro boxing career with a 30-0-1 record and currently holds the WBC heavyweight title. He recently claimed that belt with a seventh-round TKO of rival Deontay Wilder.
