Jairzinho Rozenstruik is finally getting his wish as he is set to fight former UFC heavyweight title challenger Francis Ngannou at UFC Fight Night event in March.
Rozenstruik is coming off of an impressive fifth-round TKO victory over Alistair Overeem last weekend at UFC DC. The news was first confirmed by Brett Okamoto of ESPN.
Ngannou has fought twice this year at UFC on ESPN 1 against Cain Velasquez and at UFC on ESPN 3 against Junior Dos Santos. Both his fights ended in first-round TKO. Ngannou was visibly upset over the last few months about UFC not booking him a fight. Ngannou is currently riding on a three-fight winning streak and all his wins have come via stoppages in the first round.

Rozenstruik made his UFC debut earlier this year at UFC Fight Night 144, where he knocked out Junior Albini in the second round. In his next fight, he stopped Allen Crowder in the first round and then followed up in his winning streak at UFC 244 against Andrei Arlovski where he knocked out the Russian in just 29 seconds.
Rozenstruik has been calling out Ngannou since before his fight against Overeem.
“For me, beating Alistair Overeem means a lot, but the fight I’m looking for is the Francis Ngannou fight. He’s a big, scary guy and I think that’s amazing. You put two big heavyweights who are strong and hit hard to create a bomb in the Octagon. I like exciting fights. To me, that would be a great fight. That’s the goal for now,” Rozenstruik said.
“We’re looking to be the best fighter in the world. In order to be the best, you have to beat the best. We are professionals and I like that fight, me against Francis Ngannou, two big scary guys. That’s exciting for me, that’s a big challenge. I really want to do that challenge also for myself and also to entertain the UFC fans. I think everybody wants to see that fight.” he concluded.
