UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou may have settled his score with Ciryl Gane after defeating the interim champion at the main event of UFC 270 last weekend, but the fighter’s never-ending tussle with the promotion itself is not only seeing any conclusion yet but also has escalated to a new level as Ngannou himself revealed about an incoming lawsuit from the company after engaging in conversations with Jake Paul’s manager regarding a potential shift to boxing.
Francis Ngannou was informed about the upcoming lawsuit just before UFC 270
Francis Ngannou has been unhappy with his current contract in the UFC and prior to the Gane fight, which was the last bout left in the contract, the French-Cameroonian made it clear that he was against an extension, even if it meant not remaining in Dana White’s promotion anymore.
Aside from his scuffle with the UFC, “The Predator” has been looking forward to a potential boxing match against WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, and things gained pace after the two engaged in a verbal clash on Twitter.
On top of that, Ngannou has also been speculated to a complete shift to boxing in the future and was allegedly involved in a conversation with former UFC Chief Financial Officer Nakisa Bidarian who is currently Jake Paul’s manager and the leader of Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions.
The news about Ngannou’s talks with Bidarian reportedly came under the radar of the promotion and prior to UFC 270, Ngannou and his team received an email from the UFC about an incoming lawsuit regarding his alleged talks with Bidarian, which the champion revealed to Ariel Helwani.
WOW Francis Ngannou just told @arielhelwani that he and his team got an email from the UFC as they were on their way to the Honda Center that they were going to be sued after having talks with Nakisa Bidarian who is Jake Paul's promoter about Boxing#TheMMAHour #UFC270
