Frankie Edgar is all set to fight Max Holloway at UFC 240 which takes place in Rogers Arena in Edmonton, Canada this weekend. Both fighters were scheduled to fight each other on two different occasions.
They were supposed to fight each other in 2017 and 2018. Last year Holloway had to pull out of the fight because of an injury and the year before Edgar pulled out of the fight following an injury.
Edgar is extremely confident leading up to the fight after failing to win titles twice before in the featherweight.
“I mix it up better than anyone,” Edgar told during UFC 240 open workouts.
“I’ve just got to be the best fighter for 25 minutes,” Edgar said. “That’s it.”
Frankie Edgar hasn’t fought in over a year. Last time he stepped inside the Octagon was against Cub Swanson at UFC Fight Night 128 where he defeated Swanson via a unanimous decision. He was out for the remaining part of 2018 as he was recovering from a bicep injury.
On the other hand, Max Holloway is coming off of a decision loss at UFC 236 last month to Dustin Poirier. Holloway moved up in weight class to fight Poirier for the interim lightweight title. Before that fight, he successfully defended his title against Brian Ortega at UFC 231 last December.
