Former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar was supposed to get a title shot against Max Holloway at UFC 222, but he ended up getting injured and later never had the opportunity to fight for the title shot at all, as he ended up losing to Brian Ortega, who is the most recent victims of Max Holloway in a fight which took place in December of last year.
However, Edgar now wants a crack at Holloway’s featherweight title. He respectfully called him out on Instagram.
FYI, your last fight was epic, let’s put another one in the history books! May I have this dance?”
Edgar is coming off of a UD victory against Cub Swanson at UFC Fight Night 128 and Max Holloway recently lost to Dustin Poirier at UFC 236 in a fight which was fought for the UFC interim lightweight title. Despite the loss, Holloway still holds the featherweight title and a fight with Edgar could easily be made if UFC wishes.
