There has been plenty of speculation about the former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar’s future in the UFC and which weight class he will be competing in next. While after losing a title challenge to the UFC featherweight champion Max Holloway, Edgar had himself stated that he might be soon moving down to the bantamweight division. However, Edgar has now instead set his sights on fighting the former UFC champ champ Conor McGregor.
It should be noted that McGregor had stated in a recent interview that a fight with the former champion is a mouth-watering prospect for him and that he would consider competing against Edgar at MSG. Edgar replied in the same tune and revealed that he is down for a fight. Here’s what he had to say:
You know I’m down to fight @thenotoriousmma it should have happened a long time ago. I know I’m going down to Bantam weight but for you any weight class will do. Anytime any weight class you know I’m game.
