At Matrix Fight Night 5 which was held in Dubai, Anshul Jubli defeated Srikant Sekhar via decision in the co-main event of the Fight Night.
The young and talented MMA Fighter Anshul Jubli had a breakthrough performance in this pro debut against Sanjeet Budhwar in June last year at Matrix Fight Night 2 where he won via unanimous decision. He showed his entire skillset in a dominant victory that impressed everyone in the MMA Community.
He holds a pro record of 4-0-0 with his last win coming via Decision in the MFN5 against the top lightweight contender Srikant Sekhar. He trains at one of the best teams in India at Cross-train Fight Club under head coach Siddharth Singh. With his undefeated run in Matrix Fight Night, we can expect more big fights for him soon.
In his last fight against Sekhar, Ansul put on a brilliant performance against a top-level fighter. He did not feel the pressure of the moment at such a big event and instead delivered the best gameplan of his career. After his Fight in an interview with MMA INDIA SHOW, Jubli shared his views on the fight and what are his plans.
Anshul talked about what his game plan was for the fight and how he executed it.
“The gameplan was fixed that when we would be in the boxing range I would outbox him and when there was a clinch situation I would out grapple him or may take him down to secure a top position. in the middle of the fight whenever I would not follow the plan, the coach would yell at me to stick to the game plan. My gameplan is always to use my boxing to get the upper hand and try to get the knockout victory. but my coach would remind me to do in the fight” Anshul said.
“I had him in the kimura which I thought at that moment was perfect but the toughness of Shrikant hold up pretty strong and he did not tap. At that moment I looked at the coach and was like what should I do what next submission can I pull off from this position. Afterward, I now watched the fight couple of times I realized some mistakes in my Submission due to which he did not tap as my should was not on the ground and many more.” Anshul explained.
Anshul went on to talk about his plans after this impressive win
“Actually the truth is there is no plan. I and my coach haven’t talked about it so much. We don’t have any specific name in the mind. Coach Siddharth told me that we will talk about the next fights after the new year and we have decided to chill till then. This camp for this fight was the most disciplined camp ever. As I had some extra weight to deal with so this camp was pretty tough and hardworking so we are now enjoying the win and will talk after the new year for further plans. I really want to give my body enough rest as I have exhausted my self in this camp completely. I have also been told by Alan Fernandes sir to take a rest and will have the talks later. So the Plans will be after New year.” Anshul said.
“One thing for sure is I won’t accept any fight with any newcomer or and up and comer as it will not benefit me. I am also interested in training in the American Top Team as they got some big fighters and to train with them will be a great opportunity. Tiger Muay Thai, Dagestan Gyms. This is where I look to train in the future.” Anshul Concluded.
