One of the biggest names in Indian MMA, Chaitanya “Dangerous” Gavali is one of the most popular fighters in Indian MMA scene and has brought several accolades to the country. Looking at Chaitanya Gavali today, it is hard to believe there was a time in his life when he was bullied. It was only when he started training for mixed martial arts that he discovered a new side to his personality.
Chaitanya Gavali started his fitness journey with the intent of losing weight. He joined Evolution Combat Sports & Fitness, located in Khar, back in 2011. He weighed around 95 Kilos at the start and brought his weight down to around 60 Kilos.
Chaitanya Gavali is known to be India’s first Professional MMA Fighter to win a title in a foreign promotion. He has represented India in various International competitions. Below are the titles and achievements he has won:

His career as an MMA fighter has taken him to China, Malaysia, Japan and Iran. He has also won two world titles in Malaysia back in 2015. His ambition is to represent India in the Ultimate Fighting Championships which is the top MMA promotion in the world. Chaitanya Gavali feels MMA has given him discipline and a sense of purpose in life. He is so committed that he has missed even birthdays and weddings because of training. “If training is there, a fighter needs to be present at the training. That discipline he needs to follow. If h emisses the training he is not loyal to the training and he doesn’t deserve to be a fighter or a champion.”
Chaitanya Gavali will be competing in a 16 Fighters grappling tournament at Leverage Fight Night on December 20 2020 where he will be taking on Punyajit Likharu. Looking forward to Chaitanya showcasing his top class grappling and jiu jitsu skills. Chaitanya Gavali is truly a fighter inside and outside that octagon.
