Mangat was a guest on The MMA India Show. He did an extremely interesting interview with Mr. Dabas, one of the things that particularly got everyone’s attention was Managat’s revelation that he always wanted to go to the UFC, but that joining ONE has been a blessing in disguise for him.
Here’s what Mangat revealed:
WHEN I FIRST STARTED MMA MY ULTIMATE DREAM WAS JOINING THE UFC. BUT FROM THAT TIME, NOW THE MMA LANDSCAPE HAS CHANGED SO MUCH. UFC WAS AT THE TOP OF THE TOP AND I DON’T BELIEVE THAT UFC IS THE ONLY ONE AT THE TOP NOW. IF YOU LOOK AT ONE CHAMPIONSHIP, IF YOU LOOK AT THEIR VIEWERSHIP, IF YOU LOOK AT THE DEMOGRAPHIC, I BELIEVE THAT IN THE NEXT FEW YEARS THEY ARE GOING TO TAKE OVER. THE THING IS IN NORTH AMERICA YOU DON’T REALIZE HOW BIG ONE IS, I’VE JUST REALIZED HOW BIG THEY ARE HERE IN ASIA. FOR MY TWO FIGHTS IN ONE SO FAR, I NEVER BELIEVED THAT I COULD WALK OUT INTO AN ARENA FILLED WITH 15000 PEOPLE AND I HAVE DONE IT TWICE NOW. FOR ME SIGNING WITH ONE, WAS CERTAINLY A BLESSING IN DISGUISE.
I HAVE BEEN BACKSTAGE AT UFC EVENTS WITH FIGHTERS. I JUST KNOW THE DIFFERENCE NOW I KNOW HOW DIFFERENT THE UFC TREATS FIGHTERS. I SEE HOW DIFFERENT THE STAFF IS WITH ONE, I SEE HOW DIFFERENT THEY TREAT US. I SEE HOW THEY ARE TAKING CARE OF YOUR FAMILY. I CAME TO ONE BEFORE DJ SIGNED, BEFORE EDDIE AND SAGE SIGNED, EVEN BEFORE MIESHA TATE CAME ON BOARD. SO I BELIEVE I JOINED IN ON THE PERFECT TIME.
The MMA India Show wishes him good luck for his future fights and hope he brings more laurels to the country.
