Our Friday Fighter this week is Vaibhav Shetty hailing from Karnataka who trains at KOI Combat Academy , who recently won a bronze medal at the 2020 IMMAF Oceania Open Championship . He came up against some elite level competition.
He was the lone Indian representative at the 2020 IMMAF Oceania Open Championship. Despite the defeat, he displayed a great sporting spirit. “Sadly lost this one. Match went to the ground and this turned into a grappling match. Opponent showed off his BJJ purple belt skills. Lost to an armbar submission. On to the next one,” was his response after the fight.
We are sure we will see more of him in the coming years. The MMA India Show wishes him good luck for his fights ahead.
