The official Time was paused for 29 seconds because of warnings and point deductions to Zahur, the stoppage was perfectly within the official time, the overhead screen time didn’t stop when the official clock was paused – which gave people in the audience the impression that the officials stopped after the 5 mins mark. The referee Daniel Isaac stopped the Zahur Shah fight twice in the first round: first to warn him ( 15 seconds) and second time to deduct a point( 14 seconds), the total stopped time was 29 seconds and the official clock was stopped for these warnings, when the ref finally stopped the fight in favor of Seth it was 4:36 of round # 1. Zahur was given a clean 10 seconds to make a come back, but Seth just overwhelmed him absolutely and it had to be stopped – giving Seth the win, fair n square,” he said.

Ayesha Shroff of Matrix Fight Night further clarified that going forward no Afghan fighter will feature on the MFN card again.
