Gamebred Boxing 4- the recently conducted event of Jorge Masvidal’s boxing promotion which took place last Saturday at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, has reportedly generated a total combined payroll of nearly $3 Million, much higher than UFC 278 from last year.
Gamebred Boxing 4 paid its fighters a total of $2.8 million
As per MMA Junkie, a release from the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services, Unarmed Combat Sports branch, cites the total payout of Gamebred Boxing 4, held on 1st April featuring a stacked fight card consisting 26 fighters, at $2,827,700.
In comparison to UFC 278 from August last year, the Leon Edwards vs. Kamaru Usman 2 headlined event, featuring a total of 24 fighters on the card, had a combined payroll of $2.54 million.
The main event of Gamebred Boxing 4 featured boxing legend Roy Jones Jr against Anthony Pettis, making his debut in the squared circle. Pettis clinched a majority decision victory.
As per the release, Jones Jr was the highest paid fighter on the card with a $700K payout, followed by Pettis at $650K, combining a total payroll of $1,350,000 just from the main evemt. Compared to UFC 278, Edwards was paid $350K along with a $500K payout for Usman.
Jose Aldo was the third highest paid fighter at Gamebred Boxing 4, pocketing $425K in his majority draw against Jeremy Stephens, who earned $200K. Compared to this, Aldo’s payout at UFC 278 was $400K, compared to Merab Dvalishvili’s $198K.
The Vitor Belfort vs. Ronaldo Souza match ended with Belfort emerging victorious, taking home a payout of $400K, over Souza’s purse of $200K. Compared to the co-main event at UFC 278, Paulo Costa was paid $130K in his unanimous decision win over Luke Rockhold at $200K.
