Former UFC two-division champion and UFC Hall of Famer Georges St-Pierre recently tried to choke out former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov. GSP and Khabib both have retired from the sport and are enjoying their retirement lives. They both have little history in the UFC as they were always rumoured to fight each other inside the Octagon. That fight never happened, though the UFC president himself had talked about a fight between them. Both Georges St-Pierre and Khabib represented a similar wrestling-based fighting style and fought just one weight class above and below each other. UFC fans still consider this fight as a dream super-fight that never took place.

Recently during Khabib’s interview at the Arnold Sports Festival in Birmingham, England, he encountered Georges St-Pierre. GSP was also attending the vent but Khabib had no idea of that. GSP sneaked behind Khabib and locked in a rear-naked choke. Khabib got out of it as he saw that it was Georges St-Pierre who was trying to choke him. The duo then shared a burst of laughter. Khabib also revealed on the stage that GSP was his late father’s favorite fighter.

The duo also stood face to face against each other and did face off.

Khabib Nurmagomedov VS Georges St-Pierre- Super fight

Khabib Nurmagomedov and Georges St-Pierre are two of the best fighters in UFC History. Both of them have achieved many things in their UFC career. Though GSP had more title fights compared to Khabib their legacies can’t be compared. GSP holds the most record in the UFC welterweight history. He retired as the undisputed UFC welterweight champion and also the UFC middleweight champion. Khabib did something similar as he also retired as the undisputed UFC lightweight champion after defending his title for the third time.

Khabib in his last fight fought against the UFC interim lightweight champion Justin Gaethje at UFC 254. After submitting Gaethje in the second round of the fight he announced his retirement from the sport. He took this decision after his beloved father died in 2020. He didn’t want to continue his career without his father.

GSP announced his retirement for the first time in 2013 after defeating Jonny Hendricks. He came back after four years of lay-off and fought UFC middleweight champion, Michael Bisping. He won that fight in the third round by submission. After the fight, he again vacated the belt and after some time he announced his retirement again.
