Veteran MMA fighter Gerald Harris is all set to fight Hracho Darpinyan at Bellator 210 at WinStar World Casino and Resort in Thackerville, Oklahoma. He now wants to get paid for his fights with just two fights left in his contract.
He plans to swing for the fences and leave judges out of the outcome of his fight and plans to fight differently to win this fight.
“In order for me to make more money and feed my family, I have to take more risks,” Harris said. “So I have to fight differently. I can’t take people down and Jon Fitch them. Nobody wants to see that.”
Gerald Harris is a high school teacher and a comedy promoter, the 39-year-old Oklahoma native wants to return to the classroom soon. He plans to invest the money from his fights in his future.
Although he has no complaints about Bellator’s pay, he said that going into Bellator 210, he only has 22 cents in his bank account. He also wants to sell out a 1500 seat venue on his comedy on his 40th birthday and invite Daniel Cormier to his show.
“He’s got the cage, I’ve got the stage,” Harris said.
Whether he wins or loses, he plans to go straight to the ATM.
“This is the last piece of the puzzle,” Harris said.
