GGG calls Canelo vs Jacobs a sparring session and a boring fight

Mexican superstar Canelo Alvarez defeated Daniel Jacobs via unanimous decision to unify the middleweight division at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. He now holds the WBC, WBA and IBF middleweight championship of the world.

The judges Dave Moretti and Steve Weisfeld scored it 115-113. Glenn Feldman scores it 116-112. The fight, however, was by no means easy for Canelo, as even though he dominated the first half of the fight with his slick defence and head movement, Jacobs came back strong in the second half of the fight and gave the Mexican star a lot of problems.

Now Canelo has three of the four middleweight titles. The WBO middleweight title is with Demetrius Andrade and it’s possible that Canelo fights him next for the undisputed middleweight championship of the world. Although most fans want to see a trilogy fight with former middleweight kingpin Gennady Golovkin.

GGG was also in the attendance for the fight, but he called the fight as a nice sparring session, but a boring fight and insisted that fans deserved better than that.

“I saw no emotions, nothing special today. It was a nice sparring match. Boring. They should have given more to the fans. #CaneloJacobs” GGG tweeted.
