Gina Carano, the former mixed martial artist and actress has been involved in multiple controversies in recent times, and the latest squabble involves her comments on the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine, which Carano believes has been caused by the loss of control of the “COVID narrative”.

Gina Carano has often made headlines for her comments on the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, starting with her mockery of the use of face masks. She would then go on to receive criticisms for claiming voter fraud during the 2020 US presidential elections, in addition to accusations of transphobia, racism, which caused the Mandalorian star to be dropped by Lucasfilm.

Now, amidst the ongoing invasion of Ukraine by Russia which has become the worldwide center of attention, Carano took to Twitter to claim that the war is a result of the loss of control of the “COVID narrative”. She also added a screenshot of a text her tweet, which accused the government on multiple accounts.

“The moment they lost control of the covid narrative. Cue a war. Straight from one crisis to the next. A scripted reality show sacrificing innocent lives for unquenchable greed. Endless power grabs. No accountability. Devastated economies. Never give up freedom for fear,” Carano tweeted.

“The government has caused suicides, bankruptcy, overdoses, domestic abuse, delayed thousands of life saving surgeries, psychologically damaged generations of kids, and stole 2 years of freedom from everyone. Dropping mandates isn’t enough,” the screenshot read.

A former EliteXC and Strikeforce star, Gina Carano’s short lived MMA career spun for three years from 2006 until 2009, when she and Cris Cyborg became the first women fighters to headline an MMA event at Strikeforce: Carano vs. Cyborg, in which Carano suffered her first and only career loss after seven wins.
