Bellator MMA star Heather Hardy has posted a long emotional message about the weigh-in controversy ahead of her Bellator 194 fight against Ana Julaton.
According to The Mohegan Tribe Department of Athletic Regulation, Hardy had missed weight and weighed in at 126.25 pounds. This, in turn, made the department fine Hardy 20 percent of her full purse and give it to her opponent.
The WBC Women’s Featherweight champion, however, was under the impression that she made weight. In her Facebook post, she detailed how she had the idea of the commission giving her an “allowance” and mentioned that she was indeed on the mark.

Weigh in DRAMA times TEN!!! This morning I weighed in at 126.2. The commissioner asked me if I would be willing to strip to make the weight with no bikini on, and I said YES. He turned to the man behind him, and asked him to get someone to come hang a towel. The man behind him said “Why, there’s two ounces right there. One ounce top, one ounce bottom… it’s 126.
So the commissioner shouted “126” and told me to go hydrate. Which I did. I stayed in the back an hour later doing interviews and nothing was mentioned.
A few hours later, I got a call saying I would be fined for the two ounces because my opponents camp was demanding the money. I DO NOT blame the commissioner…he made a judgement call. He wanted to see me rehydrate and didn’t see the need to wait for a towel to come from across the hotel for two ounces that clearly were made up in clothes. If my opponent wants to take my money, take food off my daughters plate for something so petty as TWO ounces… OK champ. All yours. See you tomorrow.
Hardy and Julaton will face off at Bellator 194 and will also be going head to head in a boxing fight later this year.
