Former UFC Flyweight and Bantamweight champion Henry Cejudo might be coming out of retirement for a fight and it’s not against an MMA fighter instead he will be fighting one of the all-time best boxer Floyd Mayweather.

Former UFC two-division champion Henry Cejudo teased that he could return to action against former world boxing champion Floyd Mayweather. There are lots of crazy cross-over fights taking place nowadays and a fight between an MMA fighter and a Boxer is not like we haven’t seen before. Conor Mcgregor faced Floyd Mayweather in one the highest PPV selling fight.

Taking to Twitter on Friday, Henry Cejudo teased what would be a huge showdown with Floyd Mayweather.

“It’s going down! The Triple C Vs The Olympic bronze medalist @FloydMayweather #staytune” Cejudo tweeted.

Henry Cejudo vs Floyd Mayweather could be happening

The fight rumor came right after the meeting between Dana White, Floyd Mayweather, and  Nobuyuki Sakakibara. The last time UFC President Dana White met with Japanese combat sports icon Nobuyuki Sakakibara, he left with ownership of PRIDE Fighting Championship.

“Floyd surprised me by inviting Dana over to his house during a meeting,” Sakakibara wrote on Instagram. “It’s been 15 years since we have last met.”

Sakakibara is now the owner of Rizin after he sold pride to UFC.

“HOOOOOOOLY SHIIIIIIIT!!!!!! WTF is goin’ on here,” White teased his followers.

Mayweather infamously last got into the ring at RIZIN 14 for an exhibition boxing match with kickboxing sensation Tenshin Nasukawa. Before that, Mayweather had what is expected to go down as his last professional match when he earned victory No. 50 against former UFC champion Conor McGregor. This meaning a Henry Cejudo matchup of any variation would be the 44-year old legend’s second time competing against an MMA star – excluding Nasukawa who has had four MMA fights but is primarily a kickboxer.

Cejudo retired from fighting back in May 2020 after stopping bantamweight great Dominick Cruz inside two rounds at UFC 249. ‘Triple C’ has stayed relevant ever since by talking up match-ups with a bunch of top-level fighters across several different weight classes.  “Triple C” won his last six UFC bouts, including victories over Marlon Moraes, T.J Dillashaw, and Demetrious Johnson. Cejudo always has shown interest in coming out of retirement to fight some worthy opponent.

Mayweather was lined up for a February 2021 exhibition with Logan Paul, but somehow the fight never made it through and soon the plans are in jeopardy.
