Former UFC double champion Henry Cejudo gave a message to Lopez Jr. who defeated Vasiliy Lomachenko via unanimous decision in a major upset.
Teofimo Lopez Jr. scored a shocking unanimous decision victory over Vasiliy Lomachenko to snatch the WBA, WBC Franchise, and WBO lightweight titles and add the hardware to his own IBF crown Saturday night. Judges at the MGM Grand conference center in Las Vegas had it 116-112, 119-109, and 117-111 all in favor of the 23-year-old Lopez, who became the youngest four-belt champ in boxing history. DAZN News had it 116-112 in favor of Lopez.
Lopez (16-0, 12 KOs) completed the takeover, and he didn’t even need a power display to do it. He outboxed Lomachenko (14-2, 10 KOs), who entered the bout widely regarded as the best pound-for-pound boxer in the sweet science.
With Lomachenko pouring it on late, Brooklyn native Lopez used a power surge in the 12th round to make sure his brilliant boxing earlier in the fight wouldn’t be wasted. He banged Loma to the body — as he did for the first half of the fight — and hurt the former unified champ with a hard right.
Right after the fight, Boxing star Ryan Garcia says he is open to fighting Teofimo Lopez Jr. after his shocking upset win over Vasiliy Lomachenko on Saturday night. Following the fight on Saturday night, Garcia took to social media to say that he would like to fight Lopez Jr. and answer any “unanswered questions” about the division. Check out what Garcia wrote on his Twitter about his upcoming plans in the division.
Already Lopez Jr. has been called out by one of boxing’s top prospects in the form of Ryan Garcia, and now he’s getting called out by one of MMA’s elite, as well. The former UFC bantamweight and flyweight champion, Cejudo took to his social media to share a video of him congratulating the champ on his title belts in a very sarcastic fashion.
@teofimolopez congratulations on your unification. Be a good babysitter and watch over Daddy’s belts! #younext 🏆🏆🏆 pic.twitter.com/eMNfx234UV

Henry Cejudo, Lopez jr, Garcia all in the mix
Young boxing sensation Ryan Garcia and Henry Cejudo have also shown interest in fighting each other. It’s no secret that Cejudo has called out and had shared a beef with many fighters throughout his career. He’s even aimed at boxers, despite being a former UFC champion in two weight classes.
“Triple C” has said he’d make Garcia “bend the knee” in a boxing match. Ryan Garcia and Henry Cejudo have no love lost for each other ever since the latter officially retired from MMA. Not to mention, the two elite athletes have been jawing back and forth in the media for several months. It appears a fight between the two is on the cards, given the animosity they share for each other.
Cejudo is one of those fighters who loves the media attention very much and always does something that catches everyone’s eye. Till now there’s no official news of Cejudo’s MMA return or any Boxing event.
