Henry Cejudo shocked the Mixed Martial Arts world when he knocked out bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw in just 32 seconds to successfully defend his flyweight title at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
TJ Dillashaw dropped down in weight class and was looking to create history and becoming the first double champ to have won a title moving down in the weight class, but Cejudo denied him the victory.
However, Cejudo had made it clear earlier that he would fight Dillashaw at bantamweight, but with Dillashaw calling the stoppage as a fluke, he now has changed his mind and would be happy to rematch him at flyweight again.
“If T.J. wants to run it back at 125 we can,” Cejudo told in an interview to MMAJunkie. “If he still feels like he can beat me at ’25, let’s just run it again. To go to ’35 would be for the legacy, but I’m not opposed to him coming down to ’25 again. I’m not opposed to it.”
Cejudo says he’s open for whatever challenges the UFC throws at him but he is interested in fighting at Bantamweight more.
“I’ll end up finishing my career at bantamweight. 100-percent,” Cejudo stated. “I’m going to fight all these guys. I love it. I strive for competition. The fact that [Marlon Moraes]’s even saying my name. That’s just the level of respect he has for me, even if it’s trash talking. He knows who I am.”
