Henry Cejudo is no longer the UFC 125 champ. After it became clear he could not defend the title soon, UFC will move on from and has booked Benavidez vs. Figueiredo for the vacant title on Feb. 29. Cejudo is relinquishing the title, per sources. @MikeBohnMMA first reported,” Helwani tweeted.

Unceremonious end to Cejudo’s 125 title reign, though this confirms, in a weird way, that he really did save the division. If he didn’t, they would have just moved on or let him keep it. Henry Cejudo will be looking forward to defending his UFC bantamweight title in early 2020. In an interview with Brett Okamoto of ESPN, Cejudo revealed that he relinquished his flyweight title to focus on defending his bantamweight title.

Literally just landed in South Korea and received a call from @henrycejudo, who says he has relinquished his UFC flyweight title to focus on defending his bantamweight belt. Will have a statement from him up shortly. Cejudo was in good spirits as you can see,” Brett Okamoto of ESPN tweeted.
