Henry Cejudo and Merab Dvalishvili are reportedly in the works for a bantamweight contest sometime in January next year.

The report was first made by Giorgi Kokiashvili of Setanta Sports, who took to X to claim that the UFC is aiming to put Cejudo and Dvalishvili together for a fight at the start of the next year.

“Breaking News: UFC is finalizing Merab Dvalishvili vs Henry Jecudo for January 2024.”

“No official date or contracts yet, but most likely Dvalishvili will fight against Cejudo in January.”

As per the details that are available out now, no reports of a contract has surfaced, nor any official confirmation from the promotion itself, nor which UFC event will feature the fight. However, UFC 297 is slated to take place in Toronto, Canada on 20th January and so far, the fight card has a lack of high profile names, so Cejudo vs. Dvalishvili might make it to the main or co-main event of UFC 297.

Cejudo came out of a three year retirement to face Aljamain Sterling at UFC288 in May and lost to “Funk Master” via a very close split decision verdict. Afterwards, “Triple C” did call out Dvalishvili, Sterling’s teammate, for a title eliminator, but was later booked to face Marlon Vera, which was later cancelled.

“The Machine”, on the other hand, is on a nine fight win streak, and in his latest outing in the Octagon, the Georgian marked a unanimous decision victory over Petr Yan at UFC Fight Night 221 in March.
